The 11th annual A Safe Place EmpoweRun 5K is an empowering fundraising event that brings together over 400 friends and supporters to run, walk, or donate to help victims who have been affected by domestic violence and human trafficking and to support our programs and services for families. Money raised helps A Safe Place provide a full range of services to families suffering from domestic and human trafficking and to promote awareness of the impact and consequences of violence in our communities. A Safe Place is the sole provider of services in Lake County exclusively focusing on domestic violence and human trafficking victims. A Safe Place assists victims and their children in transforming their lives after domestic violence, prevents future abuse by addressing its root cause through abuser intervention, and educates the community about domestic violence and human trafficking and how we can all be involved in its end. Last year, A Safe Place served over 32,000 community members.
