Three Brothers Theatre
As the wrongly accused and suffering wife of Shakespeare's tragic Moor, Othello, Desdemona has long been viewed as the "victim of circumstance." But as Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel demonstrates in her comic deconstruction of Shakespeare's play-- aligning tongue-in-cheek humor while raising serious questions as to the role of women through the ages -- Desdemona was far from the quivering naïf we've all come to know.
Orlin Trapp Auditorium
The Waukegan Symphony Orchestra (WSO) was born on April 24, 1974 when favorite comedic son Jack Benny returned to his hometown of Waukegan to star in the WSO’s initial performance. It was a magical night, held at the Orlin D. Trapp Auditorium at Waukegan High School’s Brookside Campus. Like the Music Center of Lake County, the WSO has made itself synonymous with the broad range of culture that is the hallmark of Waukegan. Through its history, the WSO has engaged its audiences in both traditional and challenging works. Most Waukegan Symphony Orchestra performances are held at the Orlin D. Trapp Auditorium at Waukegan High School’s Brookside Campus, located at 2325 Brookside Avenue in Waukegan. Season tickets are available online, at the Jack Benny Center for the Arts, or via telephone at (847) 360-4740. All tickets bought online will be held at the box office.
Nightshade and Dark's Pandemonium Brewing
Lake County's own Stan Dard Jazz Project plays the standards across the history of American Jazz. This is a free concert, but tip the band if you enjoy the performance.
