2. Film Production Information*

   A temporary use permit is required for all film production defined as any/all activities relating to the process of recording live action on film, magnetic tape, or any other medium for later commercial sale, use, or distribution as a movie, video, film, advertising commercial, or program including activities related to the mobilization, set-up, operation, dismantling, or storage of film production equipment, and site repair/restoration activities, as well as the gathering of persons related to the production. No permit is required for the recording of news events/features or filming for personal used such as weddings. Applications are due as soon as practical with thirty (30) or more calendar days in advance of the proposed start of the film production being recommended.

   Certificate of Insurance naming the City of Waukegan as an additional insured with an amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $4,000,000 total aggregate limits is due no later than fifteen (15) calendar days prior to the event.

    Applicant agrees to comply with all applicable City, county, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, conditions, regulations, and requirements. Applicant agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the City of Waukegan, and its respective officers, agents and employees from and against any and all injuries, liabilities, losses, damages, costs, payments, and expenses of every kind and nature (including court costs and reasonable attorney’s fees) and any claims, demands, actions, suits, proceedings, judgments, or settlements related thereto relating to or occurring in connection with the issuance of a permit for a production event to be held as specified in the application filed with the City of Waukegan by the applicant. This indemnification shall also inure to the benefit of the City of Waukegan in conjunction with any costs resulting from or proximately caused by the action of the applicant, the holder of the permit for the event, or any person under his, her, or its direction or control. Applicant agrees to pay all incidental expenses and costs chargeable or owed within thirty (30) days of the event date.
