Waukegan is celebrating Earth Week from April 15th through the 22nd and you are invited to help. A number of cleanup activities have been scheduled, but you are also welcome to join your neighbors in a Neighborhood Cleanup. All activities listed are good volunteer opportunities for families except the Amstutz cleanup which is for older teens and adults only. The Amstutz is not closed during cleanup and is an active highway, therefore, too dangerous for smaller children.
The popular Ward Dumpster Collections are back this year, starting with the 1st and 2nd Wards on Monday, April 17th. Residents are welcome to use any Ward dumpster that is most convenient to them. Items NOT accepted include appliances, yard waste/tree trunks, liquids, concrete/brick/stone/rocks, hazardous waste, flammable materials, batteries, car parts, paint/stain/lacquer, or railroad ties. The Dumpster Collections will accept electronics and tires off the rims, both for recycling.
Let's work together to keep Green Town clean and green!
