NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AND DISPLAY OF THE PY 2021 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN
CITY OF WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS

Notice is hereby given that the City of Waukegan, Illinois will hold a virtual public hearing on April 29, 2021 at 5:00 PM, via ZOOM.

The purpose of the public hearing is to receive comments on the City of Waukegan’s PY 2021 Annual Action Plan. The City intends to submit its PY 2021 Annual Action Plan, in the amount of $785,669 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $6,000 in reprogrammed funds from the 2019 Program Year for a total of $791,669, to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or before May 11, 2021. 

In order to obtain the view of residents, public agencies and other interested parties, the City of Waukegan has placed its PY 2021 Annual Action Plan on public display beginning on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 through April 30, 2021 at the following locations: Waukegan City Hall, CDBG Office, 3^rd Floor, 100 North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085, Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County Street, Waukegan, IL 60085 and www.waukeganil.gov

This document will continue to be available for public display during normal business hours of operation for a period of thirty (30) days until 4:00 PM on Friday, April 30, 2021. The PY 2021 Annual Action Plan will be submitted to the Waukegan City Council for approval at its regularly scheduled City Council Meeting on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

The following CDBG activities are proposed for funding under the PY 2021 Annual Action Plan:

• HOUSING REHAB                                                                                                $174,911

• PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION                                                                            $157,133
• REPROGRAMMED FUNDS FROM 2020                                                             $6,000

TOTAL PY 2021 CDBG FUNDS FOR PROJECT ACTIVITIES = $791,669

Interested residents are encouraged to attend this virtual public hearing via ZOOM and they will be given the opportunity to present oral (three-minute limit) or written testimony concerning the proposed use of federal funds under the PY 2021 Annual Action Plan.
