AND DISPLAY OF THE PY 2019 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN

Notice is hereby given that the City of Waukegan, Illinois will hold a virtual public hearing on April 14, 2021 at 5:00 PM, via ZOOM.

The City of Waukegan is an entitlement community eligible to receive assistance under the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In accordance with HUD rules and regulations, the City will host a virtual public hearing to obtain input on its proposed 2019 Annual Action Plan CARES Act Amendment on April 14, 2021 starting at 5:00 p.m.
The purpose of the public hearing is to present for review the City of Waukegan’s PY 2019 Annual Action Plan CARES Act 3 Amendment. The City intends to submit its “Substantial Amendment” to the PY 2019 Annual Action Plan, in the amount of $577,100 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on or before May 11, 2021.
In order to obtain the view of residents, public agencies and other interested parties, the City of Waukegan will place its PY 2019 Annual Action Plan CARES Act Amendment on public display beginning on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 through April 19, 2021 at the following locations: Waukegan City Hall, CDBG Office, 3rd Floor, 100 North Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085, Waukegan Public Library, 128 N. County Street, Waukegan, IL 60085 and www.waukeganil.gov.
This document will be available for public display during normal business hours of operation for a period of five (5) days until 4:00 PM on Monday, April 19, 2021. The PY 2019 Annual Action Plan CARES Act Amendment will be submitted to the Waukegan City Council for approval at its regularly scheduled City Council Meeting on April 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM.
The following CDBG activities are proposed for funding under the PY 2019 Annual Action Plan CARES Act Amendment:
- CV-3 PUBLIC SERVICES $311,680
- CV-3 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT $150,000
- CV-3 PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION $115,420
TOTAL PY 2019 CARES Act CDBG FUNDS FOR PROJECT ACTIVITIES = $577,100
Interested residents are encouraged to attend this virtual public hearing via ZOOM and they will be given the opportunity to present oral (three-minute limit) or written testimony concerning the proposed use of federal funds under the PY 2019 Annual Action Plan CARES Amendment.
