Waukegan and Lake County welcome COVID-19 Testing Facility

Here are helpful details about Waukegan’s free, drive-through COVID-19 Testing Facility. The facility opens this Sunday, May 3rd, and will be open seven days a week, 8am until 4pm or until 500 tests are completed. The facility is at 2161 Northwestern Avenue and will be run by Illinois National Guard Soldiers. Test results will be available within 4-7 days.

Who Can Get Tested: All individuals with symptoms are encouraged to seek testing. Additional accommodations have been made for the following individuals with or without COVID-like symptoms:
• Healthcare workers
• First Responders
• Employees of Correctional Facilities
• Individuals exposed to confirmed COVID-19 patients
• Employees that support Critical Infrastructure (grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, gas stations, public utilities, factories, childcare and sanitation)
• Individuals with compromised immune systems, chronic medical conditions
• Individuals slated to receive elective surgery within 72-hours

Definition of Symptoms: Fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.

Know Before You Go: Anyone who will be tested must be seated at a functioning window in their vehicle. Once you get in line, you will not be permitted to exit your vehicle. Not walk-up individuals will be accommodated.

While this is a free service, you will be asked to show 1) photo identification and 2) healthcare employee or first responder ID/badge, if applicable.

Due to the demand for this service, anticipate significant wait times. Be patient. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911.

Detalles de la instalación de pruebas COVID-19:

Definición de síntomas: Fiebre, tos, dificultad para respirar, dificultad para respirar, escalofríos, temblores repetidos con escalofríos, dolor muscular, dolor de cabeza, dolor de garganta, nueva pérdida de sabor u olfato.

Que debe saber antes de ir:
Cualquier persona que se haga la prueba debe estar sentada en una ventana que funcione. Una vez que ingrese a la línea en el CBTS, no se le permitirá salir de su automóvil. Las personas deben llegar en un vehículo. Si bien este es un servicio gratuito, se le pedirá que muestre 1) identificación con foto y 2) identificación / identificación del empleado de atención médica o personal al frente de primeros auxilios, según sea necesario.
