Changes in Waste Collection

service alert

Advanced Disposal’s motto is "Service First, Safety Always".  As the world is adjusting daily to the challenges brought on by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), rest assured Advanced Disposal is prepared to continue to provide essential services to Waukegan.  As a company, they are implementing procedures that will keep employees as safe as possible while performing services, and keep their customers and the public safe as well.

EFFECTIVE TUESDAY, MARCH 24th, ADVANCED DISPOSAL IS IMPLEMENTING THE FOLLOWING TO THEIR WAUKEGAN COLLECTION SERVICES:

  • All trash/refuse and recycling must be placed in the company designated cart. Loose items outside of the carts will not be collected.
  • All bulk item pickup/collection is suspended until further notice.
  • Yard waste service has been postponed to May 1st. During the first week of May, all yard waste accumulations will be collected within normal guidelines for the yard waste season.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused tremendous disruption to all of our professional and personal lives, and Advanced Disposal is not immune to these events.  At this time, they are adjusting their workforce and practicing protocols and recommendations of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  In terms of their frontline services and collection services, they are providing a public health service and will continue to deliver our services as efficiently and effectively as possible.

Finally, communication will be very important over the next few weeks.  Advanced Disposal understands how much our community relies on their services.  As of this time, all disposal facilities are operational.  In the event of any issues that could affect collections in Waukegan, they will reach out immediately to advise of the issue, and determine a response that works.  If you have questions about these changes, contact Advanced Disposal at 847-623-3870.
