[ARCHIVED] Extreme Cold Emergency Information

As we plan ahead for the extreme cold today, the City is sharing the following information:

CLOSURES:
All Waukegan Public Schools, St. Anastasia Catholic School, Most Blessed Trinity Academy, LEARN 9 Campus Waukegan, Lake County Baptist School;

All Lake County, IL Government offices;

All Waukegan Park District facilities;

Waukegan Township administration offices;

College of Lake County all campuses; and

Waukegan Public Library.

CANCELLED:
Advanced Disposal will not collect garbage/recycling on Wednesday or Thursday. Collection will start again on Friday for garbage only and not recycling. Call (847) 623-3870 with questions.

OPEN WARMING CENTERS:
Waukegan Township Park Place for those 55 years old, 9am - 5pm. Call (847) 244-9242 with questions.
Illinois Department of Human Services, 2000 N. Lewis Ave, 8:30am - 5pm

TEMPORARY WARMING CENTERS:
Oak Street Health, 3210 Grand Ave, will be open from 8am to 5pm
Waukegan City Hall, 100 Martin Luther King Jr, will be open from 8am to 5pm
North Chicago City Hall, 1850 Lewis Ave, will be open from 8am to 5pm

FREE RIDES:
Pace Bus Service will be giving free rides tomorrow, January 30th, on all Waukegan routes.

EMERGENCY SHELTER SITE LOCATIONS
PADS Lake County, Inc. locations for today, January 30th, are North Point Church, Shiloh Baptist Church of Waukegan and St. Mary's - Fremont Center in Mundelein and locations for Thursday are St. Mary of Vernon in Indian Creek and United Presbyterian Church in Grayslake.
