The College of Lake County's Kwanzaa celebration welcomes the holiday's founder, Dr. Maulana Keranga, for a presentation titled "Practicing Kwanzaa & the Seven Principles: Ensuring the Well-Being of the World." Created by Keranga in 1966, Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan-African holiday celebrated around the world. Kwanzaa brings a cultural message about what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. It is held Dec. 26 to Jan. 1.
