Object Talks: Magniscope

Tuesday, July 30, 2019

Is Lake County, more specifically Waukegan, the birth place of the motion picture projector? Yes! Discover the role of the magniscope in early motion pictures and how its inventor Edward Amet used his machine to show movies he created in his backyard. Uncover the stories of the rich artifacts at the Dunn Museum with the series Object Talks. Engage with one object at a time to ask questions, learn the historical significance, and dig deeper into the past. Includes museum admission. The program will take place in the North Shore Gas Education Classroom and museum galleries. For more info, call 847-968-3400.
