Criminal Investigations

The primary responsibility of the Criminal Investigations Division is the continued investigation of criminal incidents which occur within the city of Waukegan. Examples of investigations performed are homicide, robbery, burglary, theft, identity theft, sexual assault, missing person, crimes against children, and crimes against the elderly. Other functions include the administration of the Special Operations Division, School Resource Officers at Waukegan High School, and a GREAT officer in the middle schools.

Investigators regularly work in conjunction with members of other Municipal, State, and Federal law enforcement to solve crimes and prevent criminal activity.
