Smoke Detector Program

Purpose

The Waukegan Fire Department through the assistance of the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance will provide 10 Year sealed battery Smoke Detectors as required by the Illinois Law to homeowners.  Homes shall have working smoke alarms on all occupied levels of the home.

Requirements

Participation requirements are as follows:

  • Reside in Waukegan, Illinois
  • Allow the Fire Department to install the smoke alarm
  • Currently not have a smoke alarm
