Waukegan Port District

  • Meeting locations alternate between the Waukegan Port District administrative office at Waukegan Harbor (55 S. Harbor Pl., 847.244.3133) and Waukegan National Airport (2601 Place Rest Dr., 847.244.0055)

Members must have no private financial interest in district business. Members must also be residents of the county that is embraced in whole or part by district with at least four district residents. Board members serve six-year terms from June 1 through May 31, and are reimbursed for pre-approved expenses.

About the Board
The board governs the Port District, which:
  • Regulates navigation
  • Constructs, leases or operates port facilities and terminals
  • Establishes and maintains the public airport
  • Organizes export trading companies

The Waukegan Port District was established by Legislative Act 70 ILCS 1865 Statutory Terms of the Board of Directors.
