    Waukegan High School presents “Sherlock Homes”!“Sherlock Holmes” is based on the popular 19th century British literary series by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Holmes is a fictional private detective who employs his unique investigative talents while working for a variety of clients. The play will be Friday and Saturday, February 9 and 10 at 7pm, and Sunday, February 11 at 2pm. Tickets are $7 at the door.

    Erwin Helfer, a Chicago boogie woogie innovator, is coming to Family Piano to pound out his beloved tunes! He has the chops, the feel, and the drive of the master--but he also pushes the classic blues piano music forward in a totally new direction. His music is graceful, spirited, and at times beautifully dissonant. Erwin's classical music training allows him to hear and interpret the percussive blues and boogie piano style like no one else. This is sure to be a performance you won't want to miss!

  4. WTF! Plath: A Waukegan Theatre Festival Staged Reading

    What if poet Sylvia Plath pulled her head out of the oven in the London apartment in time? And then was sent to Waukegan, Illinois to write a one-act play. Chloe and Rhonda are locals who vie for the lead in the play, while Brad is the tired director. Plath’s difficult assimilation finds her pissed at Ted, her estranged husband, and examining her exile in Waukegan. She vacillates between being wary of the locals and tenderness for them. Plath is the second offering of WTF! (Waukegan Theatre Festival!)
