  1. Alliance of the Great Lakes Adopt-a-Beach Clean Up

    September 16, 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM @ Waukegan Municipal Beach

    Help clean up and quantify collections on the Alliance for the Great Lakes Adopt-a-Beach Day! We'll supply gloves, bags and a minimal amount of training and send you on your way. Since 1991, the Alliance has organized the September Adopt-A-Beach™ Event as part of the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup, to raise public awareness about beach pollution and to encourage responsible behavior through education and outreach. Volunteers pick up trash, collect recyclables, record what they find, and collect additional data on water quality and beach health. The data collected during the event is valuable in contributing to the passing of improved clean water policy.

  2. Yoga at the Beach with Marlene

    Enjoy yoga on Saturday mornings at the Beach through the end of September! All levels are welcome and encouraged. A limited supply of yoga mats will be available, but you are welcome to bring your own, as well as yoga blocks and water. Dress accordingly.

What would you give to be held? Join Three Brothers Theatre as they take you on a journey through a silent population. Four homeless individuals deal with love, loss, and family as they navigate the waters surrounding the disappearance of their friend, Mandy. Written and Directed by Caitlin DiGiacomo, with materials used from interviews with members of the Waukegan community, Wherever You've Been is a powerful look at the social and personal struggles between those who are homeless, and those who are not. Intended for mature audiences only.
